Hi Nanna (transl. Hi Father) is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film directed by Shouryuv, in his directoral debut, and produced by Vyra Entertainments. The film stars Nani and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles alongside Kiara Khanna, Jayaram and Priyadarshi Pulikonda. The music is composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab. The plot follows six-year-old Mahi, a girl battling cystic fibrosis, who lives with her loving father, Viraj. Her quest to learn about her absent mother leads to a chance encounter with Yashna, a woman unknowingly connected to her past, unraveling a heartfelt story of lost memories, love, and destiny. Hi Nanna was released on 7 December 2023, where it received highly positive reviews from audience and critics.The film was applauded for its direction, screenplay, cast performances, and music. It became a superhit at the box office.
Sita Ramam is a 2022 Indian Telugu-language period romantic drama film directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Raj Kumar Kandamudi. Produced by C. Aswini Dutt under the banners of Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, the film stars Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur in the titular roles, alongside Rashmika Mandanna,Sumanth Vennela Kishore, and Sunil in supporting roles. The plot of the movie is inspired by the 2011 drama film The Lost Valentine. In 1964, during the backdrop of Operation Gibraltar, Pakistani extremist Ansari seeks to incite communal violence in Kashmir by sending radicalized teenagers to pose as locals. Lieutenant Ram, an orphan serving in the Indian Army, earns recognition when he prevents riots by exposing Ansari’s plan. A radio broadcast invites the public to write to him, and he begins receiving letters, including one from a woman signing as Sita Mahalakshmi, who affectionately claims to be his wife. Intrigued, Ram sets out to find her. On a train to Hyderabad he meets the writer, later identified as Princess Noor Jahan, who had used a pseudonym. They grow close despite her family arranging her marriage to the Prince of Oman. When their relationship becomes public, Noor admits her love for Ram and renounces her royal privileges. Ram is soon assigned to a covert operation in Pakistan to eliminate Ansari. After completing the mission, he is captured along with fellow officer Vishnu Sharma. Pakistani General Abu Tariq arranges the release of only one prisoner, and Ram persuades Vishnu to return to India. Subsequent attacks on Indian bases lead to Ram being accused of treason, and he is later executed in prison for refusing to betray his country. In 1985, Afreen, a Pakistani student in London, learns through her grandfather Tariq’s will that she must deliver Ram’s final letter to Sita in Hyderabad to claim her inheritance. Tracing their story with the help of her Indian classmate Balaji, she discovers that she is Waheeda, the sister of one of Ansari’s recruits whom Ram had once tried to protect. The letter reveals that Ram knew of Sita’s true identity and remained loyal to India until his death. Afreen delivers the letter to Sita, who has lived with Ram’s memory ever since. The revelation clears his name, and Sita receives a posthumous honor for his service. Afreen reconciles with her past and works to restore Ram’s reputation
Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is a 2020 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. It was produced by Allu Aravind and S. Radha Krishna under their banners Geetha Arts and Haarika & Hassine Creations, respectively.The film stars Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde alongside a supporting cast of Jayaram, Tabu, Sushanth, Nivetha Pethuraj, Murali Sharma, Sachin Khedekar, Samuthirakani, Navdeep, Sunil, Harsha Vardhan, and Govind Padmasoorya. The film follows Bantu, a young man who, while growing up, endured criticism from his father. His world is turned upside down upon discovering that he was switched at birth with the son of a millionaire. Production of the film began in April 2019, and wrapped up in December 2019. It was filmed across Hyderabad, with songs being shot overseas. The film's soundtrack was composed by S. Thaman, while cinematography and editing were handled by P. S. Vinod and Naveen Nooli, respectively. After premiering in the United States on 11 January 2020, the film was released theatrically on 12 January, coinciding with Sankranti. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo received critical acclaim, with praise for performances of the cast, Thaman's music, entertainment value, and Trivikram's writing and direction. It was commercially successful and grossed ₹262–280 crores worldwide becoming the fourth highest-grossing Telugu film of all time at the time of its release (behind the Baahubali series and Saaho), third highest-grossing film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (behind the Baahubali series) at the time of its release, highest-grossing Telugu film of 2020 and the second highest grossing Indian film of 2020.[1] Thaman won the National Film Award for Best Music Direction. The film also won ten South Indian International Movie Awards including Best Film – Telugu.[8] It also fetched the state Telangana Gaddar Film Award for Best Feature Film.[9][10] A Hindi remake titled Shehzada was released on 17 February 2023.
